Brahma Vihara Arama is Bali’s largest and most spectacular Buddhist monastery, nested on the scenic hills of Banjar, Buleleng. Founded in 1970, this hillside sanctuary is deeply renowned for its unique architectural style, which seamlessly blends classical Balinese temple carvings and orange-clay brickwork with traditional Buddhist symbols, motifs, and golden Buddha statues. The crown jewel of the monastery is the miniature replication of the famous Borobudur temple, featuring dark volcanic stone stupas and peaceful meditation platforms that offer breathtaking panoramic views of the northern Bali coastline and the Bali Sea below. It serves as an active, serene meditation center for locals and spiritual travelers alike.

This listing is published under our physical-visit model. Operating hours are set to ‘closed every day’ pending our team’s upcoming on-site visit to Banjar to confirm schedules, take real photographs, and offer the curators a claiming link. Illustrative photos are shown here as temporary fallbacks and will be replaced with our own on-site photographs soon.
