# GWK Cultural Park

## Overview

GWK Cultural Park (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) is a vast 60-hectare cultural landmark perched on the Bukit Peninsula in Ungasan, South Bali. At its heart stands the towering 121-meter Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue — one of Indonesia’s tallest copper statues, depicting Lord Vishnu riding Garuda — completed in 2018 after 28 years of construction.

The park celebrates Balinese Hindu mythology, art, and culture through open-air exhibition spaces, regular performances, and panoramic views across the southern Bali coastline. Visitors can explore the lotus pond, the amphitheater, the Helix aquarium passage, and the DNA bridge.

**Regular performances include:**

- **Kecak Fire Dance** — held at the open-air amphitheater, depicting the Ramayana epic
- **Barong Gede Dance** — a traditional Balinese dance depicting the eternal struggle between good and evil
- **Tribal Dance** — performed at the Ganesha temple courtyard
