GWK Cultural Park

GWK Cultural Park (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) is a vast 60-hectare cultural landmark perched on the Bukit Peninsula in Ungasan, South Bali. At its heart stands the towering 121-meter Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue — one of Indonesia’s tallest copper statues, depicting Lord Vishnu riding Garuda — completed in 2018 after 28 years of construction.

The park celebrates Balinese Hindu mythology, art, and culture through open-air exhibition spaces, regular performances, and panoramic views across the southern Bali coastline. Visitors can explore the lotus pond, the amphitheater, the Helix aquarium passage, and the DNA bridge.

Regular performances include:

  • Kecak Fire Dance — held at the open-air amphitheater, depicting the Ramayana epic
  • Barong Gede Dance — a traditional Balinese dance depicting the eternal struggle between good and evil
  • Tribal Dance — performed at the Ganesha temple courtyard
